For more than half a century, research at the Agricultural Science Center at Clovis has helped agricultural producers in eastern New Mexico increase profitability. Located 15 miles north of the city on State Road 288, the center lies in the heart of the largest crop production area in New Mexico.

Work at the 164-acre center involves insect control, water efficiency and selecting, developing and managing new and existing crops and cropping systems. The center also operates a South Research Facility, located 5 miles south of Clovis, where research focuses on improving production of the popular Valencia-type peanut.
